The bathroom mirror had become my enemy.
Every morning, I’d stare at the uneven patches on my cheeks, neck, and chest. Those stubborn dark spots that just wouldn’t fade no matter what I tried.
I spent years layering concealer just to feel confident enough to leave the house. But under the makeup, my skin was dull, blotchy, and tired.
As a woman with rich melanin, I thought maybe this was just my fate, that dark spots were something we had to live with.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
